For the past month, we’ve been running user interviews with our community. There’s been a huge appetite to learn more about what we’re doing and how our AI-powered learning coach is going to disrupt the learning space in the business world.
To start off, thank you to everyone who has already signed up for a user interview. We’ve really enjoyed speaking to everyone and showing you our current version of the product.
If you haven’t… Well first of all register your interest in a live demo here.
But if you’re just curious to hear more about what we’re hearing, scroll on to see what we’ve learned.
Some people just love to learn. They are always reading a book, listening to a podcast or watching a video. Comparatively, they are more common in startups and scaleups but they exist everywhere.
However, not everyone is a lifelong learner. Most people need a reason to learn and here are some of the most common life events that trigger you to want to learn:
If you are a lifelong learner or a life event learner, ollo can help you find the right resources for you to succeed.
Most professionals have busy jobs. That means that they don’t want to (or can’t afford to) spend too much time learning. They need to get to work, fast. For that reason, the typical model that courses follow: offering hours of content just doesn’t match the needs of the modern professional or their hectic schedule.
At ollo we decided to flip this model on its head, starting from the question a person is asking and then showing them the answers they need. That means we can make any course 'searchable' or 'query-able', helping cut to the important parts of the course.
Most people search Google, but all Google does is offer a very long selection of options. It doesn’t give an answer. That’s why the new wave of GPT-powered solutions are so popular. No surprises that ChatGPT in particular is a great choice for finding easy answers to problems.
However, some learning needs more than a paragraph of words. For cases where you want to discover a topic you don’t know anything about, or want to improve yourself rather than just refine a skill or get a task done, traditional learning doesn’t benefit hugely from GPT.
That’s where users really enjoyed ollo's contextual AI, where learning resources were grouped into topics. Say you want to learn more about generating more leads… Well, that’s a big topic. What do you want to improve? Cold calling abilities, how to write an email, how to manage a team of SDRs? ollo can help group these sub-themes and start making sense of broad topics.
In almost all cases, leaders of people and talent development managers rated internal content more highly than external content. That means they would rather promote a video that was made in-house and rated by 60 employees internally, than a YouTube video with 40M views.
That’s because they seek alignment between company culture and process and the individual’s behaviours.
What caught these leaders’ attention with ollo was the ability to blend both. Make internal content easy to find and even 20 minute explanations within a broader half-day training but then balance that against trusted external resources from world experts.
That way any topic is covered, even if the company has no internal content about it. But insider knowledge also gets to shine, helping teams develop in a well-rounded way, meeting both personal and company expectations.
